What is your End-Point Assessment?

Instead of being assessed continually throughout your course, you have to complete an End-Point Assessment (EPA) to complete your apprenticeship qualification.

The End-Point Assessment is designed to test whether you have gained the skills, knowledge, and behaviours outlined in the standard. You are graded according to your performance against specific criteria, which your training provider will advise and support you.

Skills for Logistics are currently approved to deliver EPA for the following standards:

  • Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) Driver cat C and C+E – Level 2
  • Express Delivery Operative – Level 2
  • Supply Chain Warehouse Operative – Level 2
  • Supply Chain Operator – Level 2
  • Supply Chain Practitioner – Level 3
  • International Freight Forward Specialist – Level 3
  • Procurement Supply Assistant – Level 3
  • Team Leader – Level 3

Start

You’ll be employed by a company, or business and signed-up to a specific apprenticeship programme and assigned to an approved training provider and mentor. During your apprenticeship programme, you will complete both on and off-the-job training, providing you with new skills and knowledge whilst developing your behaviours. Simultaneously you’ll prepare for your End-Point Assessment.

Gateway

The ‘gateway’ is the point at which you, your employer and your training provider agree you have met all the requirements of your apprenticeship standard. This will include your core knowledge, skills and behaviours. Skills for Logistics will verify your eligibility for gateway, and thereafter schedule your EPA in conjunction with your employer and training provider.

EPA

Each apprenticeship standard has a different EPA plan. To make life easy for learners and to prepare for their assessment day. Their information, advice and guidance is provided in interactive videos on the Skills for Logistics EPA platform. In addition, learners can perform mock tests enabling learners to best prepare for their final EPA knowledge test. The EPA usually consists of knowledge and behaviours test and workplace observation. The role of Skills for Logistics is to ensure the assessment is completely independent of the training delivery and is of a consistent quality wherever and whenever the EPA is undertaken.

After the EPA

Once you have successfully completed both parts of the EPA, Skills for Logistics will inform your employer and training provider of your results. Skills for Logistics will then apply for the certificate via the Education Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) who will issue a certificate directly to your employer.
