Skills for Logistics (SFL) is a specialist provider of EPA services in the logistics sector. Our background and experience has been gained by working in the transport, warehousing and logistics management sector, blended with logistics training, learning and development and assessing.

Our team has a combined wealth of skills, knowledge and experience obtained over many years working in the sector and we understand the challenges which we all often face.

As a sector skills council it is our mission to promote the logistic industry and attract new talent to address the skills shortage. Skills for Logistics is approved to offer End-Point Assessment for the Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) Driver Level 2 apprenticeship.
The role of an LGV Driver apprentice will be to learn the many tasks required to drive and operator a goods vehicle safely and efficiently. It also prepares learner to interact and communicate with internal colleagues and customers.
The training programme includes licence acquisition for Cat C, and in some cases the platform to graduate to Cat C+E vehicles. With a shortage of some 50,000 drivers, professionals can expect a well-paid job for life.
The apprenticeship standard consists of training and assessment as follows:
• A training programme of a min.12 months
• An online multiple-choice knowledge test and behaviour test covering the learning outcomes
• A practical driving test to demonstrate the skills needed to drive a LGV vehicle safely and efficiently

Skills for Logistics are approved to offer End-Point Assessment for the Express Delivery Operative Level 2 apprenticeship.
The role of an Express Delivery Operative will principally be to drive a light commercial vehicle / van of less than 3.5 tonnes GVW. The type of operation and job role will vary according to each employer / transport operator. Examples could include final mile, home deliveries and / or express parcels collections and deliveries.
The apprenticeship standard consists of training and assessment as follows:
• A training programme of a min.12 months
• An online multiple-choice knowledge test and behaviour test covering the learning outcomes
• A practical driving test to demonstrate the skills needed to drive a light commercial vehicle / van safely and efficiently

Skills for Logistics is approved to offer End-Point Assessment for the Supply Chain Operator Level 2 apprenticeship.
The role of a Supply Chain Operator will be to work a traffic or transport office managing the movement of goods for a variety of customers often liaising with drivers and other colleagues. Using IT / planning systems for coordination and communication whilst speaking to customers and drivers by phone and other devices.
The apprenticeship standard consists of training and assessment as follows:
• A minimum duration of 12 months
• An online multiple-choice knowledge test and behaviour test covering the learning outcomes
• A practical assessment covering the skills learning outcomes
Skills for Logistics is approved to offer End-Point Assessment for the Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship.
The role of a Supply Chain Warehouse Operative will be work within a warehouse / storage, distribution or sortation hub. The role will be to safely, efficiently and effectively use a range of mechanical handling equipment usually to move, transfer, sort, store and pick and pack goods. Using IT / warehouse management systems for coordination, planning and communication whilst speaking to internal customers by phone and other devices.
The apprenticeship standard consists of training and assessment as follows:
• A minimum training programme of 12 months
• An online multiple-choice knowledge test and behaviour test covering the learning outcomes
• A practical assessment to cover the skills learning outcomes
Skills for Logistics is approved to offer End-Point Assessment for the Supply Chain Practitioner Level 3 Apprenticeship.
Supply Chain is at the heart of every business – it is a system of organisations, people, activities, information and resources involved in moving products or services from supplier to customer. It may include the transformation of natural resources, raw materials and components into a finished product.
The role could involve fast moving consumer goods, coordinating collections, deliveries and inventories from around the world to be in the right place, at the right time, in the right condition and on budget.
The apprenticeship standard consists of training and assessment as follows:
• A training programmes ranging from 24 to 30 months
• An online multiple-choice knowledge test and behaviour test covering the learning outcomes
• A workplace project (max 3,000 words) and presentation
• A professional dialogue and interview
Skills for Logistics is approved to offer End-Point Assessment for the International Freight Forwarding Specialist Level 3 Apprenticeship.
The role of an International Freight Forwarding Specialist is to coordinate the shipment of cargo ensure the employer and clients they work with remain compliant with all applicable customs, import and export laws and regulations.
The apprenticeship standard consist of training and assessment as follows:
• A training programmes ranging from 15 of 18 months
• An online multiple choice knowledge test
• Two observed role simulations
• A professional discussion
Skills for Logistics is approved to offer End-Point Assessment for the Team Leader/ Supervisor Level 3 Apprenticeship.
A team leader/supervisor is a first line management role, with operational/project responsibilities or responsibility for managing a team to deliver a clearly defined outcome. They provide direction, instructions and guidance to ensure the achievement of set goals. In the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed by employees will be the same whatever the role.
Key responsibilities are likely to include supporting, managing and developing team members, managing projects, planning and monitoring workloads and resources, delivering operational plans, resolving problems and building relationships internally and externally.
The apprenticeship standard has:
• A minimum duration of minimum 12 months
• An online multiple-choice knowledge test and behaviour test covering the learning outcomes
• A structured competency based interview
• Assessment of portfolio of evidence
• Professional discussion relating to CPD activity

The apprentice should fully understand the End-Point Assessment (EPA) process, and delivery methods before the day of their EPA. Due to this we have created an online platform that is built for the user. Designed to give relevant information advice and guidance (IAG) on this process and provide sample questions and learning materials over the duration of the apprentice’s programme.
